The oyster season officially opens on September 19. Oysters are considered a luxurious and festive delicacy, but they’re also a healthy choice. They contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals. Iodine, for example, supports a healthy metabolism, and vitamin B1 contributes to the proper functioning of the heart muscle.
Farmed oysters are also a good choice in terms of sustainability.
Ingredients (serves 4)
-
12 oysters
-
1 tablespoon finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
-
20 g Parmesan cheese
-
25 g soft butter
Preparation
-
Preheat the oven to 140°C (285°F) and line a baking tray with aluminum foil. Crumple the foil slightly so the oysters can sit steadily.
-
Open the oysters and drain the liquid. Place them on the baking tray.
-
Mix the soft butter with the chopped parsley in a bowl and distribute the mixture over the oysters.
-
Grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the oysters.
-
Place the oysters in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden brown. Enjoy!
Tip:
Serve the oysters on a flat platter with crumpled aluminum foil for an elegant presentation.
