Set the mood
Dim the lights, light a candle, or play some soft background music.
Sit comfortably
Choose a chair, your couch, or a meditation cushion. Make sure your back is straight and your body relaxed.
Breathe consciously
Inhale through your nose for 5 counts, hold for 2 counts, and exhale through your mouth for 5 counts. Repeat this five times.
Focus on your body
Gently scan your body from head to toe. Start at the top of your head and slowly move down to your feet, consciously relaxing each area.
Set an intention
Close with a positive thought or intention, such as:
“I give myself permission to let go.”
or
“I choose peace and balance.”
