Some yoga classes are more intense than others. There are also often differences between instructors. Most people will practice a form of Hatha yoga: stretching various parts of the body. But some styles are truly unique…
For example, there is goat yoga. Animal lovers do their exercises on straw, but are also allowed to cuddle the goats in between. Since goats sometimes unexpectedly jump on your head during yoga, participants learn to deal with unexpected events.
To some people, yoga might sound a bit “floaty.” Aerial yoga (hanging in hammocks) certainly fits that label, but for more down-to-earth folks, heavy metal yoga may be a better fit. Instead of only striving for happy feelings, heavy metal yoga also allows room for negative emotions.
Because yoga is often calm, it doesn’t burn a lot of fat. Hot yoga helps you relax and burn extra calories at the same time, and is practiced in a room as warm as 35 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Namasté!
