Summer is almost over, and we’re slowly returning to our daily routines. You might want to start living a bit healthier again, but in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, that can be a challenge. With the tips below, you can maintain your healthy habits despite a busy schedule!
Prepare your lunch
Cook a bit extra at dinner or prepare your lunchbox while you’re already cooking. That way, you won’t have any excuses in the hectic mornings, and you can always bring a healthy lunch with you.
Add fruits and vegetables
Make it a habit to include fruit with your breakfast so you’ve already got your first serving in. Try to add vegetables before dinner as well—think carrots, cucumber, or tomatoes with lunch, or as a snack with some hummus.
Do one big grocery trip per week
Make a weekly meal plan and try to do most of your shopping in one go. Midweek, you can top up with fresh items. This way, you’ll always have healthy food on hand and be less tempted to grab snacks or sweets.
Get moving
Schedule specific moments to move. Go for a 30-minute walk during lunch, cycle to work at least three times a week, or take an evening walk on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Planning these moments makes it easier to stick to them and helps them become part of your routine.
Relax
Keep an eye on your bedtime and make time to relax. It’s easy to get swept up in everyday busyness. Create a calming evening routine and aim for 7–9 hours of sleep. Just like with exercise, plan relaxation too—whatever works for you: walking, reading a book, or an evening with friends. Do what helps you recharge!
